Eligibility Criteria of IGNOU Recruitment 2023
Junior Assistant cum Typist (JAT):
- Essential Qualification:
- 10+2 or equivalent.
- Typing test with a speed of 40 w.p.m. in English or 35 w.p.m. in Hindi on Computer.
- A bachelor’s degree from a recognized university.
Stenographer:
- Essential Qualification:
- 10+2 or equivalent.
- Typing test with a speed of 40 w.p.m. in English or 35 w.p.m. in Hindi on Computer.
- Shorthand Test @ 80 w.p.m.
- A bachelor’s degree from a recognized university.
- Knowledge of Computers.
Age Limit:
- Junior Assistant:
- Candidates must be between 18 to 27 years as of 21st December 2023.
- Stenographer:
- Candidates must be between 18 to 30 years as of 21st December 2023.

Nationality/Citizenship Criteria of IGNOU Recruitment 2023
A candidate must fulfill one of the following criteria:
a) Citizen of India:
- The candidate must be a citizen of India.
b) Subject of Nepal:
- The candidate should be a subject of Nepal.
c) Subject of Bhutan:
- The candidate must be a subject of Bhutan.
d) Tibetan Refugee:
- The candidate must be a Tibetan refugee who came to India before January 1, 1962, with the intention of permanently settling in India.
e) Person of Indian Origin (PIO):
- The candidate should be a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African Countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (Formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia, and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.
How to Apply for IGNOU Recruitment 2023?
Registration and Application Process of IGNOU Recruitment 2023:
1. The application process for eligible candidates is conducted through ONLINE mode. Applicants meeting the eligibility criteria can submit their applications by following these steps:
- Visit the official websites: http://recruitment.nta.nic.in/ and https://ignourecruitment.nta.nic.in starting from 01.12.2023.
- Follow the four simple steps for submitting the Application Form:
- Step I: Registration for Online Application
- Complete the registration process on the official website.
- Step II: Filling of Online Application Form
- Provide all necessary details in the Online Application Form.
- Step III: Uploading Scanned Images
- Upload scanned images of Candidate’s Photograph and Candidate’s Signature in JPG/JPEG format.
- Step IV: Payment of Fee
- Pay the application fee using a suitable mode of payment, as detailed in this section.
- Step V: Choice of Examination Centre
- Select the preferred examination center.
2. Keep the following documents safe until the examination process is completed:
- The printouts of the Confirmation Page of the Online Application Form.
- Proof of fee payment.
- Photographs (same as uploaded on the Online Application Form).
- Copy of the Admit Card.
3. Before starting the Online Application Form, ensure you have the following information ready:
- Government Identity Details (Aadhaar Number, Election Card – EPIC No., Passport Number, Ration Card Number, PAN Number, or other valid Government identity proofs).
- Address for communication, Mobile Number, email id, etc.
- Scanned images of the latest Photograph (size: 10 kb to 200 kb) in JPG/JPEG format only.
- Scanned image of Signature (size: 4 kb to 30 kb) in JPG/JPEG format only.
- Scanned images of all other required documents (size: 50 kb to 300 kb) in JPG/JPEG format only.

Payment of Fee:
Candidates are required to pay the following fees based on their category:
- UR and OBC: Rs. 1000/-
- SC, ST, EWS, FEMALE: Rs. 600/-
- Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD): Nil
Method of Fee Payment:
- Through Debit/Credit card:
- Candidates must ensure the validity of the Debit/Credit Card while logging on to the website for submitting the Application Form.
- Enter the required information and make the payment using Debit/Credit Card.
- Through Net Banking:
- Keep all credentials ready while logging on to the website for submitting the Application Form.
- Login with net banking credentials and make the payment through Net Banking.

Selection Process of IGNOU Recruitment 2023
Scheme of Examination:
Tier I (Combined for the post of JAT and Stenographer):
- The examination will be a Computer Based Test (CBT) conducted in bilingual (Hindi/English) form by NTA.
- The merit list will be prepared based on the CBT, with the number of candidates qualified being ten times the number of vacancies.
Tier II (For the post of JAT):
- Candidates qualified in the CBT of Tier I will undergo a skill (typing) test in Hindi or English language, which will be qualifying in nature. The minimum qualifying speed is as mentioned in the advertisement.
Tier II (For the post of Stenographer):
- Candidates qualified in the CBT of Tier I will undergo a skill (Stenography & Typing) test in Hindi or English language. This test will be qualifying in nature, subject to a minimum qualifying speed as mentioned in the advertisement.

2. Reasoning and General Intelligence:

3. Hindi/English Language and Comprehension:
