Home & Political Department Assam Recruitment Eligibility Criteria
Domicile : The candidate must be a permanent resident of Assam.
Educational Qualification: Bachelor’s Degree in Law from a recognized University of India (established or incorporated by or under a Central Act or State Act) or an Institute recognized by the Government of Assam or by the University Grants Commission (UGC).
Service Qualification :
(i) For Public Prosecutor – Having practice as an Advocate including in the High Court for
a period of not less than 8 (eight) years, basically on the criminal side.
(ii) For Additional Public Prosecutor – Having practice as an Advocate including in the High
Court for a period of not less than 7 (seven) years, basically on the criminal side.
(iii) For Assistant Public Prosecutor – Having practice as an Advocate including in the High
Court for a period of not less than 3 (three) years, basically on the criminal side.
Home & Political Department Assam Recruitment Age Limit
Age (as on 01.01.2024) : Maximum 45 years,
relaxable by 5 years for SC/ ST candidates,
3 years for OBC/ MOBC candidates;
10 years for Persons with Disability and
for Ex- Servicemen shall be 50 (fifty) years for Unreserved category and shall be relaxed by 3
(three) years for OBC/MOBC candidates and 5 (five) years for SC/ST candidates.
Home & Political Department Assam Recruitment 2024 Application fee
Rs. 300/- for General candidates; Rs 200/- for SC/ST/OBC/MOBC candidates; and Rs 50/- for BPL candidates. Fees must be paid by way of Demand Draft to be drawn in favour of Secretary, Board of Secondary Education, Assam.

Assistant Public Prosecutor: Rs. 30,000-1,10,000 + Grade Pay of Rs. 16900 + 30% Special Allowance of Basic Pay and other allowances as admissible.
