1. GIS Assistant:

Total Vacancies: 11 (Eleven)

Duration: 11 months

Remuneration: Rs. 30,000/- per month

Duty Time: From 05:00 PM to 01:00 AM

Place of Work: GIS Lab, Office of the Joint Director Surveys, Assam, Dakhingaon-781040, Guwahati, Assam

Job Description:

Conduct quality assurance checks on GIS data for accuracy and completeness.

Extract features from Drone and HRSI Data of Cadastral and Non-cadastral villages.

Link GIS and Textual Data in Dharitree software of DLR&S.

Prepare GIS-related reports, presentations, and data visualizations.

Provide technical support to end-users in the field.

Document GIS processes and procedures.

Support in the creation of a unified data model for GIS in Assam.

Design and plan Modern Village architecture.

Any other GIS-related work.

2. Associate Project Supervisor (GIS):

Total Vacancies: 1 (One)

Duration: 11 months

Remuneration: Rs. 45,000/- per month

Duty Time: From 05:00 PM to 01:00 AM

Job Description:

Manage the team of GIS Assistants.

Implement, manage, and customize GIS applications.

Create maps and digital products.

Coordinate short and long-term GIS projects.

Provide quality control for in-house data capture.

Knowledge of GNSS hardware and software, CAD software like AutoCAD.

Provide support for integration between GIS and non-geospatial applications.

Eligibility Criteria of Land Records & Surveys, Assam Recruitment 2023

1. GIS Assistant:

Required Qualification:

Bachelor’s degree in Geography/Geology or related field with Certificate/Diploma in GIS & Remote Sensing or Geo-informatics.

OR B.Tech/M.Tech/M.Sc. in GIS & Remote Sensing/Geo-informatics; M.A/M.Sc. in Geography/Geology/Environmental Science with Geo-informatics as one of the core subjects

or a Certificate/Diploma in GIS & Remote Sensing or Geo-informatics.

Desirable Qualification:

Strong proficiency in GIS software (e.g., ArcGIS, QGIS).

Familiarity with spatial data formats and coordinate systems.

Knowledge of geospatial analysis, image processing techniques.

Effective communication and teamwork skills.

Age: Above 21 years and not more than 40 years as of 01-Dec-2023.

2. Associate Project Supervisor (GIS):

Minimum Qualification:

M.Sc. in GIS & Remote Sensing/Geo-informatics or M.A/M.Sc. in Geography/Geology/Environmental Science with Geo-informatics.

Diploma in GIS/Remote Sensing or Geo-informatics.

Preferred Qualifications:

Team management experience and more than 2 years of relevant work experience.

Technical knowledge of GIS platforms, scripting languages, and code repositories.

Designing, building, testing, and deploying web mapping services and Mobile Applications.

Scalable geospatial services in a cloud environment.

Understanding of relational database management systems (RDBMS), SQL, and spatial databases.

Age: Above 22 years and not more than 40 years as of 01-Dec-2023.
